    This module aims at illustrating the microbiological aspects of infectious diseases, their etiology and clinical manifestation, routes of transmission, treatment and techniques in detection and identification of pathogenic microorganisms.

   

This module aims at providing the students with basic knowledge of the human immune system and the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune functions in health and disease conditions such as infectious diseases and tumors, in addition to their consequences for immunization and immunological memory. The module discusses the basis of vaccinology, the science field aiming for the prevention and/or treatment of pathologies of infectious or non-infectious (allergy, cancer, others) origin.
